Bright pale straw colour with a steadily rising stream of fine bubbles. Pronounced appley fruit with a great balance between ripe fruit and delicate acidity. Produced from a blend of Macabeo, Parellada and Chardonnay which are fermented separately before blending, bottling and ageing for 2 years. Available in 75cl and Magnum
Vilarnau Brut Reserva Edición Gaudí is the flagship wine of Cavas Vilarnau, a small, artisan winery belonging to the Cava DO.
This sparkling wine is made from a traditional blend of Macabeo (50%), Parellada(35%) and Xarello (15%), all of which come from vines located in the town of Espiells, one of the freshest zones of Sant Sadurní d'Anoia, the heartland of Cava.
Meticulously harvested and separately vinified according to its type, the grapes were cold-soaked and carefully vinified.
Secondary fermentation took place in the bottle. Finally, Vilarnau Brut Reserva Edición Gaudí was aged for 18 months prior to being disgorged.
APPEARANCE: Clean, bright, pale yellow colour with golden tinges and greenish glints.
NOSE: Notes of white fruit, white flowers and some notions of mandarin orange peel. Some herbal hints and dim remembrances of freshly-baked bread and dry fruit.
PALATE: Vilarnau Brut Reserva Edición Gaudía is mild and well-structured, with some distinctive bitter and citrus notes, along with delicate notions of pastry and almonds. Nice, tiny bubbles and long, refreshing finish
