A menu for Easter:
Look for light and dry wines to match with light hors d’oeuvres. The combination of light foods and the high acidity in dry wines stimulates the palette.
Shrimp Cocktail is as classic as it gets and salmon is also a great starter. The richness of the Dexter Chardonnay works well with the meaty shrimp. Or a light sparkling such as a cava from Spain
Main Course: If you are serving fish, an Albarino or Gavi is perfect.
Or with roasted Turkey, a pinot noir, light red is perfect. If your preference is Spring Lamb -we recommend a Rioja or a Pinot Noir
Side Dishes: Aspargus are now in season -and hard to match with wine. Try a sancerre or a pouilly. Spring greens / cabbage – lovely if cooked gently with butter!
Chocolate: There is bound to be some chocolate around! So why not try an unusual idea! A sparkling red! Or for fun…our Chocolate Box range! Rich reds that can match up to the rich taste of chocolate!
Hot Cross Buns: Cup of tea of course – or a light sparkling!
Simnel Cake: A sweet dessert wine or sherry! Perfect
