Vino Sorelli

Chianti is a product that has made Tuscany famous throughout the world. The clay-limestone soil combined with a favourable climate is ideal for grape cultivation. Rules for the production of Chianti were fixed as early as the 19th century and Vino Sorelli itself dates back to the early 1900s.

The commercial activity of the Sorrelli Wine Sisters goes back to the early years of 1900, when their great-grandfather Angiolo saw a great opportunity in agriculture along with Gesualdo, one of his 15 sons, and started the business . The business grew and developed, giving life to the first cellar for the sale of the Chianti in flasks and demijohns, initially delivered by horse and cart, later by truck!

Roberto, one of the sons, already in his 60s, turned his attention to large scale distribution. The cellar, meanwhile, was expanded with new warehouses and manufacturing plants and the continuous updating of the bottling facility enabled the current production capacity of 10,000 bottles per hour.

In the early 90s, Sorelli acquired the historical vineyard of the Castle of Uzzano, situated in Greve in Chianti - the "capital" of the territory of the Classic Chianti. Today this winery represents the epitome of high quality wine-producing, the quality/price relationship of any Tuscan product, thanks to the attention taken throughout the growing and production process of this most important Tuscan wines.
