Chakana Winery
Chakana literally means “bridge” and the Chakana Wiphala label represents a bridge between cultures, between the Andean and the modern world.
Chakana Wines produces high quality wines from Argentina and supports agriculture development of Aboriginal civilizations:- their fight against native discrimination and a deep passion and commitment to meaningful projects.
Chakana Andean Wines have developed a conscientious social roll and are now implementing together a contribution project to help the preservation of Aymara aboriginal tribes in the heights of the Andes.
Chakana is a modern enterprise that takes up an old family legacy. At the turn of the 19th century, Giovanni Pelizzatti started producing high quality wines in the DOCG Valtellina, Lombardia, in Northern Italy. At present, the descendants of this pioneer have revived this passion on both sides of the Ocean. In Europe, Pelizzatti-Perego Winery, and in the Andes foothills of Argentina, Chakana Wines.
Chakana develops the concept of estate wines, making them in the same place where grapes are grown. This complete integration between agricultural and enologic practices, result in wines of superior expression. Chakana offers the best expression of its unique terroir: Agrelo, at Lujan de Cuyo County, Mendoza
